Hopya vs Trello
Hopya vs Trello: visual boards and a self-hosted workspace
Trello starts with a visual board of lists and cards, supported by collaboration and Power-Ups. Hopya combines a status Board with List, Calendar, Gallery, and Timeline, alongside Documents and generic Tables.

- You prefer self-hosting without mandatory cloud services.
- Keyboard-accessible Move to controls let you work without required dragging.
When Trello may fit
- A familiar card/list board and mobile experience fit your team.
- Power-Ups and Atlassian integrations matter to your workflow.
- You prefer its at-a-glance due-date and collaboration model.
Plan the move, not just the import
- Check export plan/format limits: raw board JSON is not Hopya import format, and Trello CSV excludes comments.
- Transform fields and map card lists to valid Hopya destinations/statuses.
- Move files separately; no direct board JSON restore.
Use the migration guide. Keep the source until data, permissions, and file recovery are verified.
Be clear about the limits
- Power-Ups, automation, comments, card mirrors, and mobile/offline behavior are not automatically recreated.
- Keep the source board until transformed data is verified; removing it early risks context loss.
- Hopya Timeline is not a dependency scheduler.
Self-hosting includes HTTPS, maintenance, and complete backups. Contact WNZN for managed/professional-services enquiries—not self-serve hosted signup.
